Final Group Project Presentation for BDS 501 Behavioral Science: Theory & Application of Experimental Methods

Join MBDS students and faculty for a final group project poster presentation for the BDS 501 course. For their projects, six groups of students are examining decision-making through the lens of behavioral economics. Their projects are original and involve both the collection and analysis of data. The topics are:

  1. Digital Disruption and Pair Performance: An Experimental Study on the Effect of Phone Presence on Pair Performance during a Cooperative Crossword Task
  2. Contracts or Trust?: Investigating the Use of Contracts as a Tool for Creating Symbiotic Relationships
  3. How Broken Trust Can Be Restored: Examining Degrees of Trust and Self-Sacrificing Behaviors in Trust Repair
  4. Cheaters Never Prosper?: A Randomized Control Trial Looking at Gender Performance Differences in Competition and Cheating Behavior on Penn’s Campus
  5. Ethnic Heterogeneity, Social Identity Threat, and the Choice between In-Group Solidarity and Self-Interest
  6. What’s Trending?: Effectiveness of Social Norm Intervention

From 11:00am – 12:00pm in McNeil 286-7, the groups will give a quick, mostly non-technical presentation about their projects, followed by a Q & A. From 12:00pm – 1:30pm, attendees will be invited to circulate in the 2nd Floor Atrium to view the posters, speak with the students, and have lunch.

Please RSVP by November 25.
