Early auditory and speech perception lays the foundations of language development
Newborns and young infants have sophisticated auditory abilities. Some of these are broad and universal, others already reflect prenatal experience with the native language. The talk will present a series of NIRS and EEG studies with young infants exploring these early abilities. It will then discuss how these might pave the way for language development.
The talk will begin at 12:00pm. A pizza lunch will be served at 11:45am.
