Behind the CV: Stories from Faculty

A “Growing Up in Science” event

“Behind the CV” is a conversation-style event series about becoming and being a scientist. UPenn faculty members share their stories, giving us a peek into the unspoken challenges you don’t get to read on a CV.

Thursday, November 21st, 4-5pm

Come join us as we chat with one of the founders of the “Growing Up in Science” model:

Wei Ji Ma, PhD

Associate Professor; Neural Science & Psychology

New York University

Wei Ji Ma is Associate Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at NYU. His lab studies decision-making in perception, attention, working memory, social cognition, and planning, using a combination of human behavioral experiments, computational modeling, and – through collaboration – electrophysiology and neuroimaging. Wei Ji grew up in the Netherlands and received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Groningen.

With Cristina Alberini, Wei Ji founded the Growing up in Science seminar series, in which scientists tell their “unofficial stories”. Read or listen to Wei Ji’s own unofficial story.
