MindCORE Neuroimaging Pilot Grant Program

The MindCORE Neuroimaging Facility is pleased to announce a call for proposals to support pilot and feasibility scans for academic research projects. This funding opportunity is designed to provide MindCORE-affiliated researchers with access to neuroimaging resources to test innovative scientific questions and generate preliminary data for future grant applications. Pilot funding may be used to evaluate protocol design and suitability of the Cima.X scanner for your data collection needs, for up to ten hours of scanner time. Awards are for one year. Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning February 21, 2025.

 

Eligibility: This call is open to investigators with a MindCORE affiliation (both faculty and graduate/postdoc trainees). Those without a prior MindCORE affiliation are encouraged to join by visiting https://mindcore.sas.upenn.edu/. Collaborative projects across departments and disciplines are encouraged.

 

Review: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Scientific merit and innovation
  • Feasibility and appropriateness of the proposed methods
  • Qualifications and training of research personnel
  • Alignment with MindCORE mission
  • Potential for the pilot data to support future funding applications

 

Submission Process: Proposals should be submitted as a single PDF document to the MindCORE Neuroimaging Facility Director, Brock Kirwan (bkirwan@sas.upenn.edu). Proposals will be accepted on a rolling starting February 21, 2025. Please use the subject line: “Pilot Grant Proposal: [Principal Investigator’s Last Name]”.

 

Reporting: Award recipients must provide a final report describing the results and impact of the award. This report should be submitted to the MindCORE Neuroimaging Facility Director by email within 90 days of completion of the award.
