Brock Kirwan, PhD
Brock Kirwan is the inaugural Director of the MindCORE Neuroimaging Facility, responsible for oversight of daily operations, including facility maintenance, financial management, and training and support of a community of users, including teaching the next generation of brain researchers at Penn.
Kirwan joined Penn from Brigham Young University, where he was a professor in the department of psychology and neuroscience from 2009 to 2024, and director of its MRI Research Facility. Kirwan completed his PhD at Johns Hopkins University and a postdoc at UC San Diego. His own research focuses on the brain mechanisms that allow people to form and retain long-term memories and then use those memories to guide future action.
