Motivations to Learn: Neural Contexts and Their Regulation
Dopamine and other neuromodulators associated with motivation regulate neural plasticity and dynamically configure brain networks during learning, offering potential to enhance learning outcomes. Research in the Adcock laboratory has systematically characterized diverse motivational states related to learning and the effects of the associated neuromodulatory states on brain systems for memory formation. Using this mechanistic foundation, we develop biologically-informed techniques for self-regulation of motivation to facilitate adaptive learning and optimize mnemonic models.
A pizza lunch will be served at 11:45am. The seminar will begin at 12:00pm.
